It is no secret that I love Pinterest! I am willing to bet that I am not alone in my love for Pinterest. I am also willing to bet that I am not alone in being totally intimidated by the perfect parties people have on display! I pin all these things and I think to myself "There is no way my party will be that great!" Well I just threw my son his first birthday party! Naturally I turned to pinterest for inspiration! I went with a rainbow theme and I thought I would do a round up of all the ideas I nabbed from other creative people and implimented for the party!
First the decor:
Confetti Balloons!

I did a few other decor details, a simple pom pom garland on the food table, and his month pictures strung up over the entry way. I put most of the effort into the food, and honestly it wasn't as much effort as I thought!

The other food items weren't themed but they are also Pinterest finds! Both recipes are super delicious and super easy to make!
Now i'm not going to sit here and tell you everything that I tried went perfectly. It didn't. There were two things I tried that didn't turn out exactly how I wanted them too.
Homemade Lollipops:

Cute right? Well here is the first part of my version
They turned out AWESOME! Then I took them to the party and set them up in these cute vases with sprinkles in them and then after about 5 minutes this is what happened...
oh dear... I "saved" the centerpiece by just taking out the lollipops and having just the sprinkles in the vases, which was still cute!
The second "fail" was the punch. I found this adorable punch on Pinterest.
It seemed easy enough just freeze some kool aid and go to town! Everything went great, until I poured the sprite over the top, then the purple ice cubes melted and it was just purple punch with some colored ice cubes. It was still very tasty and kind of worked, but not exactly how I had it planned!
My Absolute favorite thing I recreated was the cake! It turned out AWESOME if I do say so myself and it really wasn't too difficult!
